Xel-Ha Scenic Lighthouse

The natural park of Xel-Ha in its constant spirit of improving the experience of its visitors has inaugurated a new attraction, it is a 40 meter high lighthouse that has a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea, the cove and the lush jungle of the Riviera Maya.

This lighthouse as well as being an attraction fulfills its function of being a visual reference of the maritime navigation in the Mexican Caribbean and the corresponding procedures have been made to register the coordinates of its location in the international charts.

Since pre-hispanic times Xel-Ha served as a commercial port and a point of refuge for sailors, besides being a food reserve during bad weather. In this way, the lighthouse, beyond being an attraction and a useful tool for navigation, celebrates the memory of the first visitors of these lands.

What makes this Scenic Lighthouse special is that it is designed to offer an incredible experience to its visitors, as descending from the heights will be the most fun since it has four slides so that tourists feel the adrenaline when descending at high speed to finish in a refreshing dip inside a natural pool.

This new attraction is for adults and children and it is included in the cost of the ticket, the restrictions are to have a minimum height of 1.05 meters and a maximum weight of 125 kilos, the descents are individual and you need to know how to swim.

There are several ways to visit the Xel-Ha Park, in a rental car you have to take the road to the south of the state, the entrance to the park is well marked a few minutes to reach the ruins of Tulum, approximately 1:30 hrs. from the city of Cancun or 45 minutes from Playa del Carmen
